Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

Nip/Tuck: Now that Eden Lord (AnnaLynne McCord) has moved on to 90210, Dr. Sean McNamara will have to find a new young thing to lust after. Fortunately, he won’t have to go far. For the show’s 6th season, Julian McMahon’s former Charmed co-star, Rose McGowan, will have a four-episode arc as another doctor. She’ll also play another possible love interest of Sean’s. Production on the series begins next week.

Gail O'GradyLooks like might have another blonde to compete with next year. (That’s assuming she even returns to Wisteria Lane, of course.)

According to Entertainment Weekly, actress Gail O’Grady will be joining the ladies of Desperate Housewives on a recurring basis. Unfortunately for Lynette, Gail’s presence may soon become a problem for the Scavo household.

O’Grady, who will also come with a husband in tow, is rumored to be the latest cougar on TV. (After all, they are the in thing these days.) And since Bree’s son is gay, this could finally mean a storyline for one of the twins. (Well, they are like 5 years older now.)

Desperate Housewives returns to ABC on Sunday, September 28.

Chances are if you air anything semi-original on Sundays, you’ll come out on top. Last night, Big Brother helped CBS with the viewers while a Nicolas Cage film boosted NBC in the demos.

Here are some of the options available this Tuesday.

Eli Stone

Last night’s preseason game between the Washington Redskins and the Indianapolis Colts brought much needed attention back to NBC. Thanks to the upcoming Olympics, Sunday night probably won’t be the last time the network is victorious due to sports-related programming.

Thanks to a strong performance from 60 Minutes, CBS was able to pull off a narrow victory in the viewers. Meanwhile, FOX - with help from Family Guy - was a winner in the demos.

Looks like the High School Musical name doesn’t always mean gold. The premiere of ABC’s new reality series pulled in disappointing numbers last night and did very little for ABC. Meanwhile, NBC ended up courting the viewers while tying FOX with the demos.

Katherine Heigl

Even if Katherine Heigl was hoping to leave, it doesn’t sound like the network will be letting her go anytime soon.

Although the rising movie star irked many with her Emmy comments last month, ABC’s entertainment president Stephen McPherson says Heigl is “absolutely staying with the show.” This news comes days after rumors of a possible Izzie death started floating around. Word had it creator Shonda Rhimes was so irritated with the actress, she was considering all her options.

Yesterday’s Miss Universe Pageant was the night’s biggest draw. Unfortunately, the beauty contest wasn’t able to do much for NBC. CBS ended up winning the viewers while FOX won the demos.
